Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

FAQs about the new MySawgrass and Sawgrass Print Utility platforms can be found here.

If your prints don’t look right, the print heads might be clogged. Run a Nozzle Check to see if all colors are printing correctly. If this check shows there are issues with the print heads, try performing a Head Cleaning, and if needed, a Head Flushing.

A distorted pattern, missing colors, or broken lines could indicate that one or more print heads are clogged. Check which print head is affected and perform a Head Cleaning. If the issue persists, a Head Flushing may be needed to clear the blockage.

Streaks in your prints are often caused by clogged print heads. Follow these steps to fix it:

  • Run a Nozzle Check to check for missing colors or broken lines.
  • If you see gaps in the test pattern, perform a Head Cleaning from your printer settings.
  • If streaks persist after cleaning, try a Head Flushing for a deeper clean.

If the issue continues, check your ink levels and make sure you're using the correct print settings. Still need help? Contact Sawgrass Support.

Cleaning the Paper Feed Belt helps prevent roller marks, smudging, and errors like SC 57000. Follow these steps:

  • Turn off and unplug the printer.
  • Open the top cover and locate the Paper Feed Belt (a shiny black strip inside).
  • Use a lint-free cloth with Isopropyl Alcohol to gently wipe the belt.
  • Open the rear door and rotate the belt using the gray rollers to clean the entire surface.
  • Let it dry for 15-30 minutes before turning the printer back on.

Sawgrass printers are designed to work exclusively with Sawgrass Sublijet, EasySubli, and ChromaBlast inks. Using non-Sawgrass ink can cause print quality issues and may void your warranty.

We recommend using S-Race sublimation paper for the best color transfer and sharp details. It works well with Sawgrass inks and provides vibrant, high-quality prints on a wide range of sublimation blanks.

Sawgrass ink cartridges typically last 6 months to 1 year once installed, depending on usage. Sealed cartridges can last longer, but always check the expiration date for best results.

This is normal! Sublimation inks appear dull on paper but become vibrant once heat-pressed onto the substrate. The heat activates the ink and brings out the true colors.

Color banding or streaks are often caused by clogged print heads. Run a Nozzle Check and perform a Head Cleaning if necessary. If the issue persists, check your ink levels and print settings.

Ghosting occurs when the paper shifts during pressing. To prevent this:

  • Use heat-resistant tape to secure your design.
  • Avoid moving the paper while removing it from the heat press.
  • Ensure even pressure and correct temperature settings.

For ceramic products only (not other materials), you can immediately cool them in a tub of lukewarm (not cold) water after pressing. You may hear slight cracking sounds, but this is normal. This method helps prevent ghosting, especially with highly saturated colors and full-coverage prints.

No, sublimation paper is single-use. Once the ink has transferred, there is no ink left to create another print.
