Which element fits my press?

Craft Express elements connect with a 5-pin plug. The table shows per element which press it fits. Note: the 20oz, 30oz, 280 mm and D65 Slim Skinny tumbler elements only fit the Elite Pro Max.

The 40oz Travel Tumbler Press has its own two elements for 40oz tumblers (one for the wide and one for the narrow part). The loose elements above are not listed for it.

Measure your item

Measure the diameter at the top and bottom. Conical items have two ranges: one for the narrow and one for the wide side. Both must fall within the range.

Swapping an element

Switch the press off and let it cool down. Then unplug the 5-pin plug and plug in the new element firmly.

Not sure?

Send us your press model and the measurements of your item. We will tell you which element fits.

Five tests before you contact us

Most problems come from the power supply, the element connection or the paper and blank. These tests show where it goes wrong — and help us help you faster.

  1. 1

    Power and plug

Use a wall socket without an extension reel. The Auto Drawer presses draw up to 2200 W (15–20 A); on a shared circuit the fuse can trip.

  2. 2

    Element connection

Mug or tumbler press doesn’t heat? Switch off, let it cool and reseat the 5-pin plug firmly. Have a second element? Try it: if that one heats, the first element is worn.

  3. 3

    Temperature check

Measure the plate or element with a surface thermometer or temperature strip and compare it with the display. A big difference? Send us both values.

  4. 4

    Pressure test

Flat press: lay a strip of paper in each corner and close the press. Every strip should be held equally tight; if one pulls out easily, adjust the pressure or check the pad underneath.

  5. 5

    Rule out paper and blank

Press a print on a blank that has worked before. Is that one fine? Then the press works and the cause is the new paper, ink or blank.

Questions

Craft Express questions we get every day

Which mug press should I choose: Hobby, Manual or Auto?

All three press 11oz and 15oz mugs. The Hobby Mug Press has a swappable element via a 5-pin plug, so you can add other sizes later. The Manual Mug Press opens and closes with a dial and does not open by itself. The Auto Mug Press opens automatically when the time is up.

What is the difference between the Elite Pro and the Elite Pro Max 11-in-1?

The Elite Pro comes with the 40oz tumbler pad; you buy other elements separately. The Elite Pro Max 11-in-1 is the complete set with 11 elements in one box, cheaper than buying them one by one. Note: the 20oz, 30oz, 280 mm and D65 Slim Skinny tumbler elements only fit the Pro Max.

Can I press tumblers in a mug press?

Only if the tumbler falls within the diameter range of the element (see the element table above). The Elite Pro, Elite Pro Max 11-in-1 and 40oz Travel Tumbler Press are made for tumblers.

Can I press two mugs at once?

Yes, with the Autopress Max for Drinkware. The 40oz Travel Tumbler Press does two 40oz tumblers at once (one top, one bottom). For larger batches, use an Elite sublimation oven.

How do I print a bottle all the way round?

In the Autopress Max for Drinkware: press, rotate the bottle and press again.

Auto Drawer or AutoPress Max Flat?

The Auto Drawer slides the plate forward so you load away from the heat, and comes in 38 × 38, 40 × 50 and 40 × 60 cm. The AutoPress Max Flat is 38 × 38 cm and opens automatically when the time is up.

Which time, temperature and pressure should I use?

You’ll find the settings on the product page of the item you’re printing. Press a test on a spare item first.

What power supply does a flat press need?

The Auto Drawer presses draw up to 2200 W (15–20 A). Use a wall socket on a circuit that isn’t heavily loaded, without an extension reel.

25 L or 40 L oven?

The 25 L is compact, with four heating tubes. The 40 L gives more room per batch and comes with a drip tray and two grill racks.

My press is faulty — what do I send you?
