Removing excess chemistry from the film or paper surface minimises drying marks and also reduces chemistry carry-over between the baths. The processing baths stay fresh longer and the rinse section is less contaminated, in line with growing environmental requirements and legislation.Appropriately selected and installed Squeegees will do their work without leaving any marks or scratches on the film's or paper's surface whatsoever. In general, Silicone materials have the softest 'touch' but are more sensitive to wear and tear. Urethane materials are less flexible but more wear resistant.
Technotape's latest polyurethane Squeegees offer the best of both worlds. Squeegees are ranged in shape, material, colour, hardness and length. The shape is determined by the processor, only one shape/profile will fit. The material and hardness is detmined by whether it will be used on the emulsion or rear side of the film or paper and by personal preference. Buffer Rollers are used in lower speed film processors, like cinefilm processors.
Other remarks/considerations
