Good to know

Two lasers in one machine, and why that matters

The F1 Ultra and F2 Ultra Dual combine a fiber laser and a blue diode laser. You pick the source per job, in the same software, without changing anything on the machine. It is why one machine covers almost our entire blanks range.

Blue diode laser

Natural and soft materials

  • Wood and bamboo: keychains, coasters, boxes
  • Leather and PU patches
  • Paper, cardboard, slate
  • Soft-touch coated bottles
Fiber laser

Metal and hard surfaces

  • Stainless steel drink bottles and tumblers View the bottles ›
  • Metal business cards, pet tags, bottle openers
  • Aluminium, anodised and coated metals
  • Selected hard plastics

Our rule of thumb: Look at the material and the coating, not at the product. The same bottle in a matte and a soft-touch finish can want a different laser and different settings. Test on one piece first, then save the profile. How we set up a new material ›

And the P3? It has a CO₂ laser: cutting and engraving wood, acrylic and leather at size. Not metal.

Questions

xTool questions we answer every day

The questions our customers ask before they order. Settings, maintenance and faults live on the support page.

F1 Ultra or F2 Ultra — what is the difference?

Power and pace. Both engrave metal and natural materials; the F2 Ultra does it faster and deeper and is built for daily batches. If you are starting with personalised bottles, tags and keychains, the F1 Ultra is the machine most of our customers start with.

Compare the machines ›

Can I engrave your stainless steel drink bottles?

Yes. With the RA3 rotary the bottle turns under the laser. For a stable result we clamp bottles in the chuck rather than on the rollers. Soft-touch coated colours ask for the blue laser, bare stainless steel for the fiber laser.

Do I need the air purifier?

Engraving releases smoke and fine particles. In a workshop with proper extraction you can do without; in a shop, office or at events you cannot. The SafetyPro AP2 is sized for the F series, the AP2 Max for heavier use and the P3.

Air purifiers & filters ›

Which materials should I not laser?

Anything containing PVC or vinyl, and other chlorinated plastics: they release fumes that are harmful to you and to the machine. Mirror-like surfaces need a temporary coating so the beam does not reflect back. If in doubt about what a material is made of, ask us before you engrave it.

Safety on the support page ›

Which software does the machine use?

xTool Studio (formerly xTool Creative Space), free with the machine, for Windows and macOS. It drives the camera, framing, material profiles and the rotary. Files such as SVG, DXF, PNG and JPG load straight in.

Getting started with the software ›

Are you an official xTool dealer?

Yes. Technotape is an official xTool dealer for Europe. You buy the machine, the accessories and the blanks from us, with our team as your first point of contact for advice and support. Availability and delivery time are shown on each product page.

What about warranty, and who handles it?

xTool machines come with the manufacturer’s warranty. You contact us; we assess the case and handle the contact with xTool for you. One point of contact, even when the manufacturer needs to step in.

How support works with us ›

Can I see it work first?

Yes. Book a visit to our Experience Center in Baarn and bring your own products to test. You see the F1 Ultra run and go home with an engraved sample.
